Ryanair to Drop Mask Requirement on its Flights Starting in May

Following in the footsteps of Jet2 which dropped its mask requirements on Wednesday, Ryanair CEO, Michael O’Leary has announced that the carrier's passengers will be flying mask free by May.

The Telegraph is reporting that Ryanair has started consultations with its staff to find a “common-sense solution” to the mask mandate. O’Leary is quoted as saying:

“I’d like to see it come to an end maybe by the end of April, at the end of May. We are consulting with cabin crew as well at the moment. We want to know how they feel. The key issue for us is that people are comfortable to go back onboard our aircraft,”

The airline is known for its outspoken support for a swift post-pandemic recovery of the aviation industry, having previously called for quarantine-free travel from the UK to the European Union. In December, O’Leary advocated against mandatory testing at airports by restricting unvaccinated passengers on flights.

DFW Airport's Swank New Flagship Lounge

There’s a new restaurant and lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and James Beard-nominated chef Tiffany Derry helped create the menu.

The Flagship Lounge opened this week in Terminal D, not far from other restaurants like the Flying Saucer and a soon-to-open Whataburger. There are four other such airport lounges in the U.S.: Chicago O'Hare, although temporarily closed, Los Angeles International, Miami and and John F. Kennedy in New York.

The lounge sits above the regular terminal space; an elevator ride up one floor sets you out in a stylish lobby where guests are greeted with a glass of chilled Champagne.

Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business American Express card review

This small-business credit card is strikingly similar to its personal counterpart, the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card. But it's better for two reasons.

First, because this is a small-business card, it won't appear on your personal credit report. This is helpful for those who intend to apply for other travel credit cards in the future, especially from Chase due to its 5/24 rule.

Second, its bonus is higher than the personal version of the card by 10,000 miles. Insider estimates that this small business card bonus is worth $110 more than the personal card bonus, based on our valuation of Delta miles.

Flight attendant shares hack to 'increase chances' of upgrade

Flight attendant and Confessions of a Trolley Dolly founder Dan Air said that although it is difficult to get an upgrade, there are a couple of things travellers can do to boost their chances.

Dan said: "Well if you're after a free upgrade, good luck with that.

"These days it's pretty difficult for your crew to upgrade you.

"And obviously if you're flying with a low-cost airline, there's not much we can upgrade you either," he explained.

"However, we can make your time on board with us that little bit more comfortable, serve you first, maybe throw in a few freebies, move you to extra leg-room."
