Airlines That Serve BXS
Borrego Springs Airlines was founded in the 1960s by a group of pilots who were looking for an easier way to get to the desert town of Borrego Springs. At the time, there were no commercial flights to the town, so the pilots decided to start their own airline.
Borrego Springs Airlines began operations with a single airplane, a Cessna 402 twin-prop operating service to San Diego and Palm Springs. The airline soon added a second plane, and then a third. By the late 1970s, Borrego Springs Airlines was flying three times a week between Los Angeles and Borrego Springs.
By the early 80's and a name change to Sun Aire...commercial service was discontinued.
There is now no commercial service to Borrego.
