Avelo Airlines Adds Service Between Palm Springs and Sonoma

August 4, 2022

Avelo Air

Avelo Airlines has announced the start of nonstop service to Palm Springs, California (PSP) from the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport in the North Bay Area (STS).

Starting on November 11, Avelo will run this route twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays.

This will be the only airline serving STS that offers service to Palm Springs.

Avelo is introducing one-way fares between STS and PSP starting at $29* and are available now at Aveo's website at AveloAir.com.

Avelo Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy:

"We're growing again in the North Bay! We are excited to announce more service at STS with this exclusive new nonstop route to Palm Springs. Our North Bay Area Customers know that Avelo is the most convenient and affordable way to get to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Now flying to Palm Springs is easier than ever – whether for vacation, a weekend getaway, or reconnecting with family and friends."

Sonoma STS Airport

With shorter walking distances from curb to gate and quicker TSA lines, STS is the perfect airport for those who want to avoid large crowds and get on their way quickly.

The new Avelo routes will be handled by Boeing 737-800 jets that will seat 189 passengers.

Avelo also now offers nonstop flights between Palm Springs, Hollywood Burbank Airport, and Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport. This provides easy and convenient travel options for those looking to enjoy these popular destinations.

SGF Take: Avelo Being Very Bold in a very Competitive Landscape

Avelo has been quite aggressive in its strategy to serve less congested routes and do it in a budget-conscious way for the traveler. All this in the midst of the challenges when the pandemic hit and post pandemic. The industry needs more players like Avelo and time will tell if they're here to stay. We're rooting them on for sure...
