Spirit Airlines has announced it will launch its 10th crew base at Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) this fall and with it will bring hundreds of new jobs as the carrier increases its growth footprint in Texas and further west.

The new crew base will be joining Spirit's maintenance facility that it added in Houston...with the base employing some 150 Pilots and about 300 Flight Attendants who will base their crew duty at IAH.

Houston is an ideal location geographically for a new crew base due to its strategic location within Spirit's network, and it will complement Spirit's mix of domestic and international flight activity and fare advantages. Houston also offers exceptional talent recruitment opportunities and a vibrant metropolis for Team Members to call home.

Spirit already has crew bases at the following locations:

This year marks our tenth anniversary in Houston, and it's the perfect time to celebrate this expansion that will bolster the foundation of our operation as our airline continues to grow," said Nick Bartolotta, Vice President of Operations and Crew Planning for Spirit Airlines. "Houston is a key international gateway in our flight network, and we greatly appreciate the strong partnership with the city and airport that helped make this opportunity a reality."

Spirit Airlines is continuing its investment in Houston with new routes and additional flights. Guests can now travel to 16 domestic and seven international destinations, including daily, nonstop service to Monterrey, Mexico (MTY) this fall. This makes Spirit the ideal option for affordable travel within the United States and to Mexico.
