The new Airbus A330neo has been unveiled by Virgin Atlantic, designed to provide a premium experience for every customer. The aircraft's Upper Class cabin has a brand new seat, evolution of its iconic social space and the unveiling of The Retreat Suite, the most spacious suite in Virgin Atlantic's history.
Virgin Atlantic is introducing new ways for customers to stay connected, including in-seat wireless charging for those travelling in Premium and Upper Class, and more USB connections, Bluetooth enabled entertainment systems, and the fastest ever Wi-Fi for those in every cabin. These advancements will provide passengers with more opportunities to stay connected and entertained during their flight.
Virgin Atlantic's Mission: Greenest Fleet in the Sky
Virgin Atlantic announced in 2019 a firm order for 16 Airbus A330neos, which will help the airline reduce its carbon emissions. These new planes are designed to be more fuel and carbon efficient than the planes they're replacing, and will also deliver a 50% reduction in airport noise contour.
This is part of Virgin Atlantic's commitment to flying the cleanest, greenest fleet in the sky, and will help the airline save money on fuel costs while also reducing its environmental impact.
Virgin Atlantic’s eagerly anticipated A330neo is expected to take off to Boston on its first customer flight in early October. Tickets are slated to go on sale in late July. From September 2022, the airline will take delivery of three aircraft, with the remaining deliveries following between 2023 and 2026.
Upper Class - The Retreat Suite
The Retreat Suite is Virgin Atlantic's newest and most spacious Upper Class suite yet. It consists of two exclusive suites at the front of the cabin, each with a 6ft7” direct seat to fully flat bed and a 27” touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging.

Virgin Atlantic's 'Loft'
The Upper Class experience on Virgin Atlantic includes the award-winning social space, The Loft. This space is located near the front of the aircraft and provides comfortable seating for eight people.
Passengers can relax and chat or enjoy refreshments from the new self-service fridge and drinks dispenser. They can also connect Bluetooth headphones to the dual panoramic 27” touchscreens or use the wireless charging facilities for their devices.
Virgin Atlantic Economy - Almost Like Other Carrier's Business Class
The new Economy cabin offers an enhanced experience, with plenty of comfort and connection options. Passengers can enjoy the largest ever economy screen at 13.3”, as well as an intuitive touchscreen and Bluetooth audio to connect headphones.
They can also use their phone as a controller. There is plenty of storage space available, along with AC power and USB ports to keep gadgets energized.
Customers have the choice between 28 Economy Delight seats, which offer an increased 34” seat pitch, or 156 Economy Classic seats, providing a 31” pitch. Either way, they are sure to enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable flight that rivals other airlines' upper class offerings.
