WestJet has announced upcoming service between Vancouver and Penticton, BC with non-stop 6-times-a-week flights.
The new service will be on WestJet Link and will commence on February 17th, 2023.
The new service is expected to benefit both cities' businesses and tourist activity, with the only day not flying is Saturday.
WestJet has a partnership agreement with Pacific Coastal Airlines that will see all flights operated by WestJet Link, using a fleet of WestJet-branded 34-seat Saab 340 aircraft. This agreement will provide additional service to and from popular destinations in Western Canada.
"The addition of new intra-provincial routes is critical as we invest in our presence in the West and look to strengthen our offerings to ensure British Columbians have more access to convenient and affordable air travel," said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, WestJet Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs. "This new route marks the initial steps in our renewed committment to B.C., and will open up connections and opportunities for local businesses and residents as they recover from the difficult past few years."
This is WestJet Link's 11th announced route as WestJet aims to connect smaller destinations to their larger city counterparts served by their main carrier.
WestJet had grown to over 180 aircraft flying to over 100 destinations before the pandemic and is rebuilding their route network to exceed that in the future.
