Boeing has announced a donation of $100,000 from the Boeing Charitable Trust to support recovery and relief efforts in Slidell, Louisiana, following a recent tornado. The funds are earmarked for the Northshore Community Foundation’s Weather Relief Fund, which aims to provide necessary supplies and assistance to those impacted by the disaster.

Cheri Carter, vice president of Boeing Global Engagement, stated, “Amidst the devastation, we extend our support to those enduring this terrible hardship. Boeing is committed to working alongside local partners to provide meaningful assistance that will help expedite healing and recovery.”

The partnership between Boeing and the Northshore Community Foundation seeks to offer substantial support in the region’s recovery efforts. Leslie Landry, president and CEO of the Northshore Community Foundation, expressed gratitude for Boeing's contribution, saying, “Northshore Community Foundation, in partnership with Boeing, is dedicated to helping our Northshore neighbors who are working to rebuild following the storm. Their contribution to our efforts in the disaster relief space is deeply appreciated and represents a commitment to our region.”

The aerospace company also encourages its employees to engage in community support through volunteer work and charitable gift match programs. In line with Boeing's employee gift match programs, contributions made by employees towards tornado relief efforts will be matched by the company.

Boeing's ongoing commitment to Louisiana is reflected in its long-term support of local communities and its employment of more than 1,100 personnel in the state. These employees are involved in the Space Launch System core stage and Exploration Upper Stage projects, crucial components of NASA’s Artemis program aiming to send the first woman and first person of color to the moon.

Since 2010, Boeing has provided more than $20 million in charitable contributions to Louisiana communities. In 2023 alone, the company allocated over $5 million to global recovery and relief efforts.
