Fourteen months after finalizing an agreement to expand its fleet, Singapore-based budget airline Scoot has taken delivery of its first Embraer E190-E2 jet. The aircraft is the first from the Brazilian manufacturer to join the fleet of a Singapore carrier. The handover ceremony took place on April 11 at Embraer’s headquarters in Sao Jose dos Campos, located an hour’s drive from Sao Paulo.

Scoot is scheduled to deploy the new jet on its inaugural flight to Krabi, Thailand, on May 7. The addition of the E190-E2 is part of a broader plan to enhance regional connectivity with nine such aircraft.

Earlier this week, Scoot Chief Executive Leslie Thng, along with senior executives from the airline, visited Brazil to inspect the new aircraft, which features the company's distinctive yellow-and-white livery.
