Initially announced in October 2023, the new scheme is designed to facilitate consumers in accumulating Travel Miles and Elite Status Points more rapidly, offering rewards for every dollar spent on Frontier. The program is noted for its industry-leading earn rate, providing up to 20 miles or points per dollar spent on completed flights.
Tyri Squyres, Frontier Airlines‘ vice president of marketing, stated, “The wait is over! Now is the time for consumers to ‘Get it All for Less’ by earning free flights and obtaining valuable status quickly and for less.” The FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard® is a significant component of the program, providing additional avenues for earning Travel Miles.
Multiple Ways to Earn Travel Miles Explained
Travel Miles can be earned through various methods, including eligible purchases on Flyfrontier.com, using the FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard, transactions with Frontier travel partners, or direct purchase of miles. These miles, which are redeemable for free flight fares on Frontier Airlines, do not expire as long as there is annual eligible activity on a member’s account. However, they do not contribute towards Elite Status.
Distinguishing Between Travel Miles and Elite Status Points
Elite Status Points, on the other hand, are accumulated through eligible purchases on Flyfrontier.com or with the FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard. These points, unlike Travel Miles, are not redeemable for flights but are used to track progress toward Elite Status. Accumulation of these points is annual, with the status granted for the remainder of the current year and the entire following year.
For example, members earning 10,000 points in January 2024 will achieve Elite Silver Status from February 2024 through the end of 2025. Each calendar year begins with a reset of the Elite Status Points balance for subsequent status periods, requiring annual earning for status maintenance.
