A 1960s aviation landmark just got a second life. PS, the private luxury terminal company operating at LAX and Atlanta, has opened its fourth location inside the former Pan American Airways headquarters building at Miami International Airport — turning a piece of aviation history into what may be the most distinctive private terminal in the country.
The 34,000 square-foot space has been meticulously restored, preserving original Pan Am insignias, gold paneling, and reflecting pools while layering in the kind of amenities that let travelers bypass MIA’s public terminals entirely. The offering splits into two tiers: The Salon, an elevated social lounge designed for solo and business travelers, and Private Suites — fully residential-style accommodations built for discretion and complete privacy.
The PS experience goes well beyond a comfortable chair and free food. BMW chauffeur transfers, chef-prepared dining, spa treatments on request, and a dedicated Control Room that coordinates directly with security, airlines, and government agencies handle every logistical detail from arrival to boarding. PS Direct, launching later this year, will extend that to door-to-door transfers between aircraft and home or hotel.
PS now operates at LAX, Atlanta, Dallas Fort Worth, and Miami. Membership is open to anyone, with corporate memberships available.
Why It Matters: MIA is the second busiest U.S. airport for international passengers and the gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean. For frequent travelers who value time and privacy over everything else, a private terminal that bypasses the chaos of one of America’s busiest international hubs is a serious option worth knowing about.**
