Air Canada has opened an Air Canada Café at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, bringing the first dedicated premium lounge experience to YQB and marking the seventh location in the airline’s growing Café concept.
The 97-seat space, operated in partnership with Plaza Premium, spans 3,616 square feet and leans hard into local character. The food program features signature pancakes with maple butter and pumpkin seed spread sourced from the Mi’gmaq Nation of Gespeg Indigenous community, a build-your-own power bowl bar with locally sourced ingredients, a curated Quebec cheese selection, and a full bar pouring specialty coffee from Lavazza, cocktails featuring local distillery La Distillerie du Fjord, and beers from Quebec City brewery La Souche. The design draws from Quebec’s natural landscape and features original works from two notable artists — abstract painter Antonietta Grassi and writer-artist Douglas Coupland.
On the practical side: every seat has power including USB-C ports with enough wattage to charge a laptop, and there’s dedicated productivity seating for travelers who need to work before their flight.
Access follows standard Air Canada Café eligibility — Aeroplan Elite 50K and above, Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders, and Business Class passengers departing on Air Canada or Star Alliance flights from YQB.
Why It Matters: Quebec City is one of North America’s most distinctive travel destinations, and YQB has been a lounge desert until now. If you’re routing through Quebec City on Air Canada with eligible status or a premium ticket, this is a genuine upgrade worth knowing about before your next departure.
