AerSale Corporation, a prominent player in the aviation products and services sector, recently celebrated the opening of its new facility in Millington, Tennessee. This development is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to bolster its MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) capabilities and to better serve the global commercial aviation market.

The chosen site for this expansion is the historic Millington-Memphis Airport, originally established in 1917 as Park Field. This airport boasts a rich heritage of military aviation training that spans back to World War I. In recent times, it functioned as a crucial naval air technical training center for the US Navy and Marine Corps. The airport, which houses one of Tennessee’s longest runways, is strategically positioned near AerSale’s parts distribution facility in Memphis, which spans 320,000 sq. ft.

AerSale has extensively renovated the new 112,000 sq. ft. location to meet the needs of its clientele. Enhancements include general space upgrades, advanced equipment installations, a new parts paint booth, and additional office space. The facility is set to handle narrow-body maintenance, modifications, heavy MRO activities, aircraft storage, and disassembly. These services complement AerSale’s existing operations in Goodyear, AZ, and Roswell, NM, and extend its MRO services to include structural components and other aircraft parts.

Nicolas Finazzo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AerSale, expressed enthusiasm about the new facility: “We are excited to announce the opening of our new facility in Millington, Tennessee. The easily accessible location, along with its 8,000 ft runway, will serve as a hub for AerSale’s operations in the region, supporting our mission to provide cost-effective aftermarket solutions to airlines, leasing companies, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers worldwide. This expansion reinforces our dedication to delivering exceptional service and value to our customers while strategically positioning AerSale for future growth.”

The local community also stands to benefit from this new development. Mike Gill, Airport Director at Millington Airport Authority, noted the positive impact of AerSale’s establishment in the area: “We are delighted to extend a warm welcome AerSale as they join the Millington community. Their investment in our community not only brings new opportunities for economic and employment growth, but it also underscores Millington’s attractiveness as a location for aerospace businesses and reinforces our position as a hub for innovation and industry excellence. Historically, Millington Airport has been a vibrant training center for aircraft technicians, playing a crucial role in preparing skilled professionals who have contributed significantly to the aviation industry.”
