Houston-based Avelo Airlines has announced the launch of an exclusive nonstop service from William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) to Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Southern Connecticut, starting in June. This new route positions Avelo as the sole airline providing direct flights between Houston and Connecticut.

The service, set to commence on June 14, will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays, utilizing Boeing Next Generation (NG) 737 aircraft. Avelo has set introductory one-way fares starting at $98, available for booking at Aveloair.com. The airline currently offers flights from Brownsville, Texas, to Los Angeles and Orlando.

Andrew Levy, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Avelo Airlines, expressed his enthusiasm for the new service: “Houston, it’s time to say hello to Avelo! Traveling from the Bayou City to Connecticut is now easier than ever. We cannot wait for Houston travelers to discover Avelo’s convenience, affordability, and industry-leading reliability. This is an especially proud occasion for our Houston-based airline and all of us who call Houston home.”

Houston's Role as Avelo Airlines' Foundational City Highlighted

The airline’s Support Center, which includes its headquarters and operations such as the Operations Control Center, Customer Support Center, and other support functions, is located at Greenway Plaza, Houston, employing approximately 230 local Crewmembers.

Jim Szczesniak, Director of Aviation for Houston Airports, welcomed Avelo’s addition to Hobby Airport, highlighting the airport’s role in connecting Houston to global communities and economies: “Houston Airports exists to connect the people, businesses, cultures, and economies of the world to Houston. That’s why we are thrilled to welcome Avelo to Hobby Airport. From world-class amenities to Houston-friendly hospitality and an efficient experience from curb to gate, our team at Hobby is ready to welcome even more travelers to the first and only 5-Star Skytrax Airport in North America.”
