A private jet previously owned by Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s company was sold amidst the backdrop of substantial legal judgments amounting to nearly half a billion dollars against the former president this year. The buyer, Mehrdad Moayedi, is a notable Republican megadonor and an Iranian-American real estate tycoon based near Dallas.

Public records reveal that the 1997 Cessna jet, valued at approximately $10 million by aviation specialists at evoJets, changed hands from Trump’s DT Air Corp to MM Fleet Holdings LLC, a Texas-based entity linked to Moayedi. The terms of the sale remain undisclosed.

Moayedi, who founded Centurion American Custom Homes in 1990, has been active in the construction and development of thousands of homes, working in partnership with various public and private sectors. His financial contributions to political campaigns are also significant. Federal campaign finance records indicate that in the lead-up to the 2020 elections, Moayedi contributed $245,000 to Trump Victory—a fundraising committee for the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee, and various state GOP parties. Additionally, he has supported other key Republican figures, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Nikki Haley, as well as making a substantial donation to Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) in 2022.

The aircraft itself has been prominently featured on the Trump Aviation website, which describes it as a “rocket in the sky,” boasting speeds up to Mach .92 and capable of reaching altitudes as high as 51,000 feet. Trump Aviation praises the jet for its “top of the line interiors” that comfortably accommodate nine passengers and its exterior adorned with “the signature Trump Crest,” which purportedly adds “an even higher level of luxury and beauty to this magnificent aircraft.”

This sale marks another chapter in the intersecting worlds of business and politics, highlighting the ongoing financial maneuvers of influential figures within the political landscape. Moayedi was not available for immediate comment regarding the purchase.
