Emirates has announced an increase in its flight frequency on the Dubai – Rio de Janeiro route, introducing a fifth weekly service commencing on December 7, 2024. The additional Saturday flight aims to cater to the growing demand for travel between these destinations and offers enhanced connectivity for passengers traveling onwards to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The new flight, operating as EK247 and EK248, will be available in a two-class configuration. This expansion brings greater flexibility and choice for customers, aligning with market demand. Flight bookings are open through Emirates’ official website, its mobile application, and through travel agencies.
Enhanced Passenger and Cargo Capacity with Emirates' New Flight Schedule
The increased service will feature aircraft offering 302 seats in Economy and Business Class, with the latter providing a 2-2-2 seat layout. This enhancement is expected to bolster passenger connectivity, linking Brazil and Argentina with key global destinations in the Emirates network. These include the UAE, Japan, Thailand, Maldives, Egypt, mainland China, Hong Kong, Turkey, South Korea, India, Australia, and Indonesia. Additionally, this service caters to significant Lebanese communities in Latin America, with frequent travelers to and from Beirut.
The additional flights are also anticipated to strengthen tourism from various global markets, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Russia, and the UAE, into Brazil and Argentina.
Impact on International Trade and Tourism through Emirates' Increased Services
Furthermore, the expansion is poised to facilitate international trade, with each Boeing 777 aircraft accommodating approximately 20 tons of cargo. This capacity enhancement will support the export of regional goods from Argentina and Brazil to the Middle East, Europe, and other markets, while also aiding in the import of essential items such as pharmaceuticals.
Emirates’ inflight experience includes a culinary journey with multi-course menus and a selection of premium beverages. The inflight entertainment system, ice, offers over 6,500 channels of global content, including movies, TV shows, music, and more.
For Business Class passengers on the Rio de Janeiro-Dubai route, complimentary chauffeur drive services are available, along with access to the Emirates Lounge in Dubai.
Enhanced Inflight Experience and Extended Network with Emirates' Partnerships
The airline’s codeshare agreements with GOL Airlines and Azul Airlines, along with interline partnerships with LATAM Airlines and Aerolineas Argentinas, extend Emirates’ network reach, enabling connections to various domestic and regional destinations in Brazil and South America. Skywards members can earn and redeem miles on these codeshare flights.
