Korean Air is set to expand its international services for the summer 2024 season, beginning March 31. The expansion includes the resumption of services to four cities across China, Europe, and Southeast Asia, along with an increase in flight frequencies on several key routes.
This enhancement will elevate the airline’s international capacity to approximately 96% of the levels seen before the pandemic, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK).
Starting April 2, Korean Air will reintroduce three weekly flights between Seoul Incheon and Zurich, addressing the high demand for this renowned summer destination.
Continuing the expansion, on April 23, the airline will recommence three weekly flights on the Seoul Incheon-Zhangjiajie route. Zhangjiajie, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, gained global recognition for inspiring the fictional world of Pandora in the movie “Avatar”.
Busan-Bangkok Route Reintroduced After Pandemic Hiatus
On April 24, Korean Air plans to resume its Seoul Incheon-Zhengzhou services with four weekly flights. Zhengzhou, a sought-after tourist location in China, is home to Taihangshan, often dubbed the “Grand Canyon of China.” The region also offers attractions such as hiking on Songshan, one of the Five Great Mountains of China, and the Shaolin Temple, the renowned birthplace of Kung Fu.
Additionally, daily flights on the Busan-Bangkok route will resume on April 25, after a nearly four-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Enhancing European Connectivity: More Flights to Budapest
To cater to the increasing demand, Korean Air will boost flight frequencies on popular routes to Europe, Southeast Asia, and North America. The Seoul Incheon-Budapest route will see an increase from three to four weekly flights, recognizing Budapest’s appeal as a tourist destination and a hub for the battery and automotive component manufacturing industries.
The airline will also augment the Seoul Incheon-Bangkok and Seoul Incheon-Manila routes from three to four daily flights and two to three daily flights, respectively. Furthermore, since January, two additional frequencies have been added to the Seoul Incheon-Bali route, now offering eleven weekly flights, thus providing travelers with more flexibility and choice.
Expanding North American Network with Daily Dallas Flights
In North America, the Seoul Incheon-Dallas service will be expanded from four weekly flights to daily flights, enhancing connectivity for passengers to and from the south-central United States.
Korean Air is committed to continuously monitoring seasonal demand fluctuations across its global network to offer optimal schedules and enhance the customer experience.
