American rapper Nicki Minaj found herself detained at Amsterdam Schiphol airport on Saturday. The 41-year-old artist, known for her dynamic performances and bold persona, was allegedly held on suspicion of possessing soft drugs.

Minaj, who was scheduled to perform in Manchester, England, later that day, shared her ordeal on the social media platform X. In a video posted to her account, Minaj appeared to be informed by a Schiphol employee that the police needed to “search all her luggage.” In a subsequent post, she disclosed, “Now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls.”

The Dutch military police confirmed that a 41-year-old American woman was detained on Saturday for possession of soft drugs. They clarified that it is illegal to transport such substances out of the Netherlands. While the police did not confirm Minaj’s identity, they stated that the individual remains in custody pending an investigation.

Minaj, who previously served as a judge on “American Idol,” had performed at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on Thursday and is slated to return for another show on June 2. One might wonder if this incident will add a new chapter to her already eventful career or simply become another story in the annals of celebrity misadventures.
