Passenger Assaults Pilot on IndiGo Flight During Delay Announcement at Delhi Airport [VIDEO]

In a recent incident at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, a passenger on an IndiGo flight was filmed assaulting the pilot during an in-flight announcement concerning flight delays. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows a man in a yellow hoodie suddenly charging at the pilot and striking him before being restrained by another passenger.

In the video, the agitated passenger is heard saying, “Chalana hai to chala, nahi to mat chala, khol de (If you want to operate the flight, do so; otherwise, don’t and open the aircraft door).” The flight details and the reasons behind the passenger’s behavior remain unclear.

Aviation Authorities Initiate Probe Following Passenger's Aggressive Act

Following the circulation of the video, aviation security agencies have commenced an investigation into the incident. IndiGo has lodged a formal complaint against the passenger involved, with a case being filed as reported by ANI, citing the DCP of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

IGI Airport Issues Advisory to Passengers Due to Adverse Weather

This incident occurred against the backdrop of widespread weather-induced disruptions at several Indian airports, including dense fog conditions at Delhi’s IGI airport. The fog led to significant delays and left many passengers stranded. 

In response, the airport authority issued an advisory, stating, “Due to dense fog, flight operations at Delhi Airport may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.” The statement was released via the airport’s official channel, ‘X.
