Propeller Airports recently announced that Seattle Paine Field Passenger Terminal has been recognized as the third Best Small Airport in the U.S. according to Newsweek’s Reader’s Choice Award. This recognition adds to the growing list of accolades for the terminal, known for its upscale amenities, serene environment, and exceptional customer service.

Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports, expressed his satisfaction with the award: “We are honored to receive this award acknowledging Seattle Paine Field as one of the best small airports in the nation,” he said. “Since the terminal’s inception, we have worked hard to ensure that Seattle Paine Field offers the best possible service and experience for our customers, and it is gratifying to see industry leaders continue to recognize our work.”

The selection process for the award involved a panel of travel experts, including writers from notable publications such as Condé Nast Traveler, Business Insider, and Modern Luxury. This award places Seattle Paine Field alongside esteemed company, including Missoula Montana Airport and Lexington Kentucky’s Blue Grass Airport.

Newsweek lauded the terminal for its “sleek and modern” design and its “customer-centric experience for air passengers with a lounge-like atmosphere and locally sourced food options.” The terminal, which opened just over five years ago, features modern design elements such as floor-to-ceiling glass windows, fireplaces, lounge-style seating, and glass jet-bridges, enhancing the overall passenger experience.

The partnership between Propeller and Snohomish County, a rarity in the U.S., mimics successful models used internationally. This collaboration has not only provided a convenient travel option for residents but also spurred significant economic benefits, including job creation, support for local businesses, and fiscal savings for taxpayers. The combined efforts have elevated the regional infrastructure and supported continued recognition on platforms such as Newsweek’s award.
