Textron Aviation, a leading aerospace company, is expanding its operations in Australia, signaling a significant enhancement of its services in the region. The company’s move to modernize facilities and increase parts availability for Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker brands aligns with its strategy to bolster its global service network.

Textron Aviation Australia Pty Ltd., previously known as Premiair Aviation Maintenance, now fully integrates its Perth, Gold Coast, and Melbourne facilities under Textron Aviation’s umbrella. This change follows the acquisition of the service center in 2020 and marks a significant step in enhancing factory-direct support, maintenance, and modifications through a worldwide network of service and parts centers.

In Perth, the relocation of Textron Aviation’s Service Center to a more expansive facility at Jandakot Airport will provide increased capacity for aircraft servicing, which is expected to reduce scheduling delays and minimize downtime, thus enhancing overall customer satisfaction. Brian Rohloff, Senior Vice President, Customer Support, stated, “Investing in a larger and modern Textron Aviation Service Center facility in Perth allows us to grow our capacity and better assist customers with scheduled maintenance, modifications and aircraft-on-ground support.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to improving the customer experience across its service locations.

Melbourne will also see Textron Aviation expanding its footprint with the addition of 5,000 square feet of new parts storage near Essendon Fields Airport. This expansion will quadruple the previous inventory levels and is aimed at facilitating quicker shipments to customers. Brad White, Senior Vice President, Global Parts and Distribution, noted, “Increasing parts inventory and team members in Australia allows us to respond even faster to customers when they need support.” He highlighted that the initiative was driven by customer feedback and growing demand, noting the operation of over 1,400 aircraft in the region.

The modernization efforts in both cities reflect Textron Aviation’s proactive approach to addressing the needs of its customer base, ensuring that support and services are more accessible and efficient. The company anticipates full operational capability in the new Perth facility by the end of July 2024, and in the expanded Melbourne facility by the end of June 2024.
