Virgin Atlantic is set to expand its operations in the United States, enhancing its service offerings from London Heathrow to key American destinations. The airline plans to increase its flight frequencies to New York JFK and Boston for the summer of 2024. This expansion is part of a broader initiative, which includes a rise in Miami services to twice daily year-round and the introduction of a new seasonal service from Manchester to Las Vegas.
New York and Boston Service
For the summer of 2024, Virgin Atlantic aims to operate a record number of flights between London and New York. This includes a new, seventh daily flight to JFK. In collaboration with its Joint Venture partner Delta Air Lines, the airline will offer a total of ten daily services to New York City, marking an 11% increase from the summer of 2023.
The airline’s focus on the East Coast also extends to Boston, with plans to introduce a second daily flight. Combined with Delta’s existing daily service, Boston will now be served by three flights a day from Virgin Atlantic.
Virgin Atlantic's Newest Aircraft (A330 and A350)
Passengers traveling on these routes will have the opportunity to experience Virgin Atlantic’s newest aircraft, the A330-900neo and A350-1000. This fleet upgrade is expected to increase the number of Upper and Premium seats by 23%. Additionally, the A330-900neo will feature the exclusive Retreat Suite in the Upper Class cabin. Delta Air Lines‘ customers can look forward to experiencing its newly enhanced Delta One product.
The enhanced schedule signifies Virgin Atlantic’s commitment to its American routes, with an anticipated average of 27 daily departures to various U.S. cities including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington DC.
Moreover, these new services are poised to improve connections for customers, facilitating easier travel to various cities across the U.S. and to international destinations like Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Johannesburg, and Shanghai via London Heathrow, in partnership with Delta Air Lines.
