Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) has achieved a significant milestone in its operational history, recording an unprecedented level of passenger traffic. The airport witnessed over 3.2 million passengers in 2023, marking a new all-time high.
The exact figure stands at 3,237,325 passengers, which represents a 9% increase from the previous record of 2,981,844 passengers set in 2022.
PSP Sets Eight New Monthly Records in Passenger Count
Throughout 2023, PSP consistently broke records, setting new monthly highs in passenger count on eight separate occasions. This trend underscores a growing preference for air travel in and out of the Palm Springs area.
Palm Springs Airport Sees a Surge in Available Seating Capacity
Additionally, the airport reported a record-breaking year in terms of available seating capacity. The total number of scheduled seats available in 2023 rose by 7.7% to reach 2,101,693, surpassing previous records.
2024 Projections Indicate Continued Upward Trend for PSP
Looking ahead to 2024, airport authorities are optimistic about maintaining this growth trajectory. Projections for the first quarter of the year anticipate over 650,000 passengers will use PSP, suggesting another strong year for the airport.
