These new routes are expected to boost economic and tourism activities, leveraging Qatar Airways’ extensive network, which covers over 170 destinations worldwide. Venice is anticipated to attract significant interest from travelers in Japan, China, and Australia. Hamburg, on the other hand, is set to become a key gateway for travelers from South Africa, Thailand, and the Philippines.

The addition of these European destinations provides travelers with more options for their summer plans in 2024. The offerings include the opportunity to enjoy the scenic river views in Hamburg and the iconic experience of savoring gelato while exploring the canals of Venice.

This expansion announcement follows Qatar Airways‘ recent update to its winter schedule. The airline has increased flight frequencies to several popular leisure destinations, including Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, Belgrade, and Miami. These flights connect through Hamad International Airport in Doha, which has been recognized by Skytrax as the ‘World’s Best Airport’ in 2021 and 2022.

Qatar Airways’ Global Reach: Connecting Over 170 Worldwide Destinations

Qatar Airways, with its hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha, operates flights to a diverse range of more than 170 destinations globally. This strategic expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to enhancing its global footprint and providing more travel options to its passengers.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer commented: “As this year comes to an end, we are delighted to present our passengers with new and exciting travel opportunities for the year 2024. Starting with our resumption to Venice and an inaugural flight to Hamburg, Qatar Airways and its hub, Hamad International Airport, continues to position itself on the global map as a leading gateway for international travel and connectivity. We look forward to seeing our passengers uncover new experiences and resume flying to their favourite destinations.”
